Campus Law Enforcement Degree

Law Enforcement, Policing & Investigation

An individual who has earned their law enforcement degree can be found working as a police officer at either the state or federal level. Law enforcement degree graduates uphold the law, educate people on the law, and help to protect victims of crime.

Law Enforcement Schools

If you enjoy working with people, and are interested in protecting them, and upholding the law, then you may be interested in earning your law enforcement degree.

Once you have decided to pursue your law enforcement degree, one of the most important decision to make is whether you would like to take your law enforcement courses through an on campus program, or an online program.

There are several advantages to taking your law enforcement courses on campus, including:

Understand the pace of the job. Once you have completed law enforcement school and begin working in the field, your working conditions will likely be very different than anything you are used to. The job that a law enforcement school graduate performs is both high stress and very physical. You will likely work very long hours as a law enforcement school graduate, and you will also likely work evenings and weekend. It will be important that you learn to budget your time, get sleep when you can, and function on a schedule that may not be your ideal. While you are in law enforcement school you will be forced to cater to someone else’s schedule: that of your law enforcement school. While this is not necessarily the same as the stresses you may experience as a law enforcement school graduate, it will provide you with good preparation, and will prepare you more than taking your law enforcement courses online, where you will be able to make your own schedule.

Understand the physical requirements. Another big part of your job as a law enforcement school graduate will be the physical aspect. It will be of utmost importance that your body is in the proper physical shape. This will often be a requirement of finding a job once you have completed law enforcement school. While you are in law enforcement school, it is the perfect time to understand and start to work towards the physical requirements that you will need. You will also likely find more motivation from taking your law enforcement courses on campus than you would online, as it may be difficult to find the motivation for the physical portion on your own, which you would need to do if you took law enforcement school online.

Whether you choose to earn your law enforcement degree through an online program, or on campus, you are choosing a career where you will truly be able to make a difference, not just for individuals in your community, but for your entire community as a whole. Good luck!
